When you choose a gift from this catalog you'll give joy and lasting change to a child in need and put a smile on the face of someone you care about. Here's how it works:

Items in this catalog are representative of current Save the Children programs and your gift is a donation to our many programs, not necessarily to a specific project. This enables us to combine your gift with those of other caring donors to provide tangible solutions that help entire communities overcome poverty and achieve self-reliance.

Your gifts are tax-deductible except for the fair-market value of the bonus gifts: $4 for the bookmark; $10 for the plush camel, goat, lamb, cow or donkey; $14 for the basket; $13 for the Cell Phone Case; $17 for the bracelet; $20 for the water bottle; $28 for the 4-pack ornaments; $37 for the silk scarf.

1. Can I return/exchange my gift item or my bonus item?

Unfortunately, if a bonus item has already been mailed or notification of a gift item sent out, we cannot offer a refund. If nothing has been mailed, we can cancel the order and give you a full refund or help you select another gift/bonus item. Please note that in case of changes to the order, you will see both a new charge and a refund of the old charge on your credit card.

2. Can I get more than one bonus item if I donate more than the minimum amount?

We're sorry, but we can only send one bonus gift per donation. To receive multiple bonus gifts, please complete separate transactions.

3. Can I make a donation and receive the bonus gift myself?

By entering your personal information in the "In Acknowledgement" fields in the Shopping Cart, you'll be letting us know that you want to receive the bonus item.

4. I want to make a gift donation but don’t want the bonus gift.

That's ok — not everyone does. You can decline a bonus gift if you choose. In fact, that allows us to put more of your donation toward programs. Just go to the Global Action fund category and choose the item called “Global Action Fund with No Bonus Gift” to make a donation without receiving a bonus gift.

7. How secure is my information over the web?

All online transactions to Save the Children are done on a secure server. This means that information entered on the transaction page is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) before transmission. On secure pages, a "closed" lock symbol is displayed at the bottom part of your browser screen and the website address in the bar at the top of the browser screen starts with an "https" instead of an "http".

Our site is tested and certified daily to pass the "McAfee Secure" Security Scan. To help address concerns about possible hacker access to your confidential data and the safety of visiting this site, the "live" McAfee Secure mark appears only when this site passes the daily McAfee Secure tests. Donation pages are verified by VeriSign and transactions are processed using a VeriSign merchant account.

8. Do you offer expedited shipping?

Unfortunately, we do not offer expedited shipping for gift cards or bonus items. You can take advantage of our eCards to let your gift recipient know about the gift you've given and that items are on their way. We do offer expedited shipping for child sponsorship welcome kits. Please call us at 1.800.728.3843 to learn more about this option.

9. Will I receive a receipt for my gift and is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, your receipt will be mailed to you shortly after we process your donation if you order by mail or phone. Donations made online will be receipted via email. Your gifts are tax-deductible except for the fair-market value of the bonus gifts: $4 for the bookmark; $10 for the plush camel, goat, lamb, cow or donkey; $14 for the basket; $13 for the Cell Phone Case; $17 for the bracelet; $20 for the water bottle; $28 for the 4-pack ornaments; $37 for the silk scarf. Your receipt will detail the tax-deductible and non-tax-deductible portions for you.

10. How does it work?

First, choose a loved one or friend to honor. Select a gift and make your donation online or by phone. We will send your gift recipient a free personalized card featuring the exact gift item chosen in their name. When you make a donation that entitles you to a bonus gift, we will send the card to your recipient along with the associated bonus gift.

11. What will my gift recipient receive?

Your gift recipient will receive a beautiful gift card featuring one of the ways your gift will benefit children in need.

12. Can I send a gift from the catalog to my sponsored child?

No, you cannot send a catalog gift item to your sponsored child. Save the Children has learned that one of the most effective ways of helping children is to combine gifts from donors rather than giving them directly to your sponsored child. In addition, the bonus gift items in the catalog ship to continental U.S. addresses only.

13. What is included in the price of the gift?

Included in the gift amount is the cost of the item/service plus any administrative costs associated with delivering the item and/or service.

14. How quickly will my gift cards be sent?

Cards and bonus gift items will be sent within 3 business days and your gift recipient should receive them within 7 to 10 days of your purchase.

15. Can I have bonus gift items shipped outside of the United States?

No, unfortunately we can only ship within the continental United States. Mailing outside the U.S. can become costly so we are not offering that option.

16. Can I choose to which country I want my gift to go?

No, you cannot designate to which country your donation will go, but be assured it will be used to help create positive change for children in need.

17. I don't live in the U.S. but I'd like to order a gift for someone who does. Is this possible?

Yes. If you are an international donor and would like to place a catalog order for someone in the U.S., you can order online or call us at 1.203.221.4030 Monday through Friday between 8:00AM and 5:00PM EST.

18. Can I pay by check?

If you're placing your order by phone or via our website, we can only accept credit card payments. Unfortunately, we are not set up to transfer funds electronically through your bank at this time. Our toll-free number for placing your order is 1.800.728.3843 Monday through Friday between 9:00AM and 5:00PM EST.

If you prefer to pay by check, you can mail your order to us. Please make your check payable to Save the Children and write the item number in the memo section of your check. Include a note with your complete mailing address, the item number you're ordering, the quantity of that item and the complete mailing address for your recipient(s). 19. If I make a donation for which the recipient receives a bonus gift, what will the gift package look like?

The bonus gift items will be delivered in either a padded envelope or a box made of corrugated materials. The box and envelope will have your return address printed in the upper left corner so your recipient will know this gift is from you.
