1. Can I make a donation and receive the greeting card myself?

By entering your personal information in the "Send to" recipient field of the donation form, you'll be letting us know that you want to receive the greeting card yourself.

2. Where does my money go?

By selecting a gift through this catalog, you are making a donation to Save the Children. We are dedicated to using your donation to give every child the best chance for success. Each gift in this catalog is representative of resources, services or support provided by Save the Children to a program area in which we work, and may change due to environmental, programmatic and economic considerations. Your donations will be used to provide assistance where it is needed most within that program area or to address similar need.

3. How does Save the Children measure up to other charities and non-profit organizations?

4. Will I get a confirmation that my gift has been received in the field?

No, unfortunately this is administratively and cost prohibitive, but rest assured that your gifts will be used to provide assistance where it is needed most within that program area or to address similar need.

5. How secure is my information over the web?

All online transactions to Save the Children are done on a secure server. This means that information entered on the transaction page is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) before transmission. On secure pages, a "closed" lock symbol is displayed at the bottom part of your browser screen and the website address in the bar at the top of the browser screen starts with an "https" instead of an "http".

Our site is tested and certified daily to pass the "McAfee Secure" Security Scan. To help address concerns about possible hacker access to your confidential data and the safety of visiting this site, the "live" McAfee Secure mark appears only when this site passes the daily McAfee Secure tests. Donation pages are verified by VeriSign and transactions are processed using a VeriSign merchant account.

6. Do you offer expedited shipping?

Unfortunately, we do not offer expedited shipping for greeting card, but you can take advantage of our eCards to let your gift recipient know about the gift you've given.

7. Will I receive a receipt for my gift and is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, you will receive a receipt. Your gifts are tax deductible. If you choose the Save the Children Calendar, your gift will be tax deductible except for the fair market value of the calendar, which is $7. Your receipt will detail the tax-deductible and non-tax-deductible portions for you.

8. How does it work?

First, choose a loved one or friend to honor. Select a gift and make your donation online or by phone. We will send your gift recipient a free personalized greeting card featuring the exact gift item chosen in their name.

9. What will my gift recipient receive?

Your gift recipient will receive a beautiful greeting card explaining how your gift will benefit children in need. The greeting card is suitable for display as a reminder that your gift is helping children in need. You have the option to choose a personalized printed card mailed directly to your gift recipient, a PDF that you can print at home, or an E-card that you can send to your gift recipient.

10. Can I send a gift from the catalog to my sponsored child?

No, you cannot send a catalog gift item to your sponsored child. The gift items in the catalog are purchased for the communities where Save the Children works. Save the Children has learned that one of the most effective ways of helping children is to combine gifts from donors rather than giving them directly to your sponsored child.

11. What is included in the price of the gift?

Included in the gift amount is the cost of the item/service plus any administrative costs associated with delivering the item and/or service.

12. How quickly will my gift be sent?

Your greeting cards will be sent within 3 business days and your gift recipient should receive them within 7 to 10 days of your purchase.

13. Can I have my greeting card shipped outside of the United States?

Yes, we will ship your order to an international address.

14. Can I choose the country where my donation will benefit?

No, unfortunately you cannot select the country where your donation will benefit. Please see question "Where does my money go?"

15. I don't live in the U.S. but I'd like to order a gift for someone who does. Is this possible?

Yes. If you are an international donor and would like to place a catalog order for someone in the U.S., you can complete the online order form or call us or 1-800-999-2445 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST.

16. Can I pay by check?

If you're placing your order by phone or via our website, we can only accept credit card payments. Unfortunately, we are not set up to transfer funds electronically through your bank at this time. Our toll-free number for placing your order is 1-800-999-2445 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST.

If you prefer to pay by check, please make your check payable to Save the Children and note the item number in the memo section of your check. Please include a note giving us your complete mailing address, the item number you're ordering, the quantity of that item and the complete mailing address or your recipient(s).
